So I’m off to celebrate your farewell :D

December 29, 2008

I’m finally back from HK! :)

I was actually meant to be back yesterday but turns out there was seats for today so my parents fortunately changed their mind. :D Spent xmas wandering around hk, went to Ocean Park, made a last minute decision to go to Macau for the day. Quite a bit of everything really. Shopping, food, tourist-y stuff, Overall, the trip was not too bad :) Jia jia came on the 23rd so Ann, Jiajia and I hung out quite a bit. :)

Oooh I was really surprised at the number of gorgeous guys I saw! Usually I hardly see any in HK but this time, it was insaaaane. Aww its honestly not at all fair! I want to live somewhere thats not Brunei. The weather’s really nice as well, when I arrived in Brunei, I swear I started sweating already. Sickkkk.

My mom was being all blur and she said some really weird things. Like the MTR shows which side you have to get off, then my brother says to my mom ‘we’re getting off on this side.’ and my mom goes ‘I go the other side. GO through the wall. Like TRANSFORMERS!’ haha WTF MAN. I didn’t get it.

And we were in Macau, the Venetian hotel and upstairs the ceiling is painted like the sky and the walls are buildings so it sort of tries to give you the feeling you’re in Venice. Mom thought the sky was real for a second. And the adults thought the fake buildings (which had windows, curtains and all those sort of intricate details) were hotel rooms for a while. Then they sort of saw sense and changed their minds. Hahahah so blur and blond, and don’t say thats such a ‘yesmean’ thing to do. yknow why? because I DIDN’T DO IT.

Okay, I’m going out now so in time, I’ll tell you more interesting things that happened in Hong Kong.

And happy birthday to Marcus and Tet :D

its all for you.

December 22, 2008

God, I wish I could stay here a tiny bit longer. Maybe until the 30th so I can still be back for New Years :D I thought that the shopping wouldn’t be good because it’s winter here but I am SO happy to say that i was wrong. I bought quite a bit and I can actually wear these things in Brunei! AND another great thing is that I can bring all these clothes to Qatar :D

Food is orgassssmic as usual. I’m still waiting to get some Hoi Lao San (that mango thing). The Esprit and Hoi Lao San closed in the place I always go to in Kwai Fong :( My aunt cooked us all the usual huge ass special dinner, I’m waiting for the cake. Hahahaha gosh her cooking is amaaazing. If I lived with her, give it a week and I’ll be obese. Everything is yummy, and it doesn’t matter if you’re in a cheap restaurant or a fancy-schmancy place. You know what is really good during winter? A glass bottle of hot vitasoy. I know it SOUNDS quite indifferent but really, its sooo nice. Makes you feel all fuzzy inside. :)

I’ve yet to visit Mongkok, but I’m waiting for the girls. I cant wait for that :D and I’ve just bought a pair of boots, so that made my day. I’m so glad I hardly brought anything in my suitcase to hongkong. Means I can wear all my new stuff. Woooootz hahahah

Ooh I watched Pearl Harbour before I left to HK. I swear, Josh Hartnett is GORGEOUS with a capital every-letter. :D He looks eurasian, but I don’t think he is. He’s got some Swedish blood in him though apparently. And Kate Beckinsale is so pretty in the movie. Pearl Harbour’s such a lovely movie, I’m glad I bought it to watch again. God, it made me cry quite a bit. SIGH all that Kleenex! To see all those people dying like that, to see the two guys be best friends for that long, how they fall in love with the same girl, the timing of everything. It’s no wonder my eyes went all puffy after. HAHA

I would love to post pictures of the movie here in some attempt to make this post a little less pointless but the computer isn’t really cooperating with me right now :(

Cake is calling my name. I can’t resist :(

sudden wistfulness.

December 21, 2008

Hello from HK!

I love love LOVE winter here. Or christmas here. Harbour City is going to be all pretty and bling-ed up and the weather is like being in an airconditioned room. WHICH MEANS, I get to wear lovely things like BOOTS! and I have the opportunity to layer clothes and wear turtlenecks and coats and blazers etc.

I don’t have my USB cable for my camera or the memory card adapter so I don’t have any pictures for you guys :( BUT I was yam cha-ing (well direct translation, its drink tea. but its like a meal sort of thing?) around lunch at Tsuen Wan and I was watching this japanese series (they spoke in canto) and OH GOD the male lead is SO hot. He plays the piano and he’s tall and he’s got something about him thats just insanely attractive.  :D  I want to buy the series when I get back. It looked not too bad.

OOH you know what happened today? I was at Cafe de Coral, and this girl was carrying a whole tray-ful of food and suddenly she trips over something (have NO idea because it was a perfectly flat surface). So good if we could all watch it in slow motion. Food and soup went flying everywhere and this happened right in front of me. And my mom dodged right out of the way to the right and I tried to move backwards (blocked on either side) but NO someone was blocking me. Bits of macaroni and soup splattered onto the hems of my jeans. Mmm priceless. :)

I’ll try and post as much as I can. Gosh I reckon this blog is so dead anyway. Hhahaah so its at my own personal use. Aww I really really want to go to Ocean Park. Maybe I’ll go with Ann or Jan. Or both. Oh yeah! I’ll just use this post space to say happy birthday in advance to some people.

For today, Happy birthday beijing boy! :)  Someone’s having fun over there, I swear I’ll visit soon.

Happy birthday Rid! (In advance) Good luck for your driving test on saturday and have a great xmas and birthday meshed together :D

a deeper connection.

December 18, 2008

I’ve been caught up lately so I haven’t been checking in on my husband, Ben Barnes. (hahahha) Gorgeous as he is, he’s bound to be in some modelling thing right? And he’s done a GAP ad! Okay this was like almos 3 weeks ago but whatevs, like i said. Haven’t been checking in :)

ad2

ad3Sighh, no need to say anymore. He’s absolutely gorgeous isn’t he :( heartbreakingly so. And he did another photoshoot with Interview Magazine.

who cares if his hair's weird, look at the face and the EYES. that smoldering look.

who cares if his hair's weird, look at the face and the EYES. that smoldering look.

normal_ben12
normal_ben3Though these photos are a little ‘different’, he’s still so attractive. I wonder how the movie Easy Virtue is. It’s been out in the UK for a month now. I’m so envious of Jessica Biel, she’s got Ben as her husband in the movie. He’s all sort of goofy and young in this movie. I’ve watched quite a few scenes from the movie and it’s a little weird. But s’okay, Ben’s in it. :) HAAH

normal_easyvirtue3And I want to watch Dorian Gray. But its only out in the end of next year. :( In the UK. Ben’ll be the more serious character. It’s about a ‘corrupt young man who somehow keeps his youthful beauty eternally, but a special painting gradually reveals his inner ugliness to all’.

Okay, I’m kind of hungry now.. Hhahahaha BYE.

I’m feeling very partial to the sound of the piano right now. It’s strange. Or if not the sound of the piano, instrumentals. Less words, more the music itself.

Distractions, distractions. Ahh my days feel so blank. I can’t be bothered to do anything, its as if nothing has a purpose to it. The only thing that’s alright is watching feel good movies, they sort of make you forget about reality if you get really engrossed in the movie. I want to get out of Brunei soo terribly bad.

I had a blackout this morning at around 3 in the morning! Did anyone else? It scared the balls off of me, I tell you. I woke up all of a sudden and couldn’t get back to sleep. I went into this slight frenzy of paranoia and started imagining all these bizzare things that prevented any further sleep. I only dozed off at 5 in the morning, and awoke before 7 because the blistering heat was killing me. No airconditioning. HAHA what are we all to do without the aircon. Seriously.

Another pointless post. I’m sorryyyy. I’ll have more interesting things to post about soon.

surprise, surprise.

December 17, 2008

Twilight day!

Amirah and I met up at Coffee Bean and had our usual catch up session. It was relaxing to talk about anything and everything. Saw a few people and yeahh hahaah no need to elaborate. :) we didn’t have much of an appetite so we went to Cheezbox for a snack and went to catch our movie.

In general, I thought the movie wasn’t too bad. Amirah says it may be because our expectations were so low in the first place. I think if you see the movie and the book themselves as seperate things, then the movie wouldn’t be so bad. As much as I disapprove of Robert Pattinson as Edward, he really is gorgeous. In the movie. HAHA  in real life he looks like a stoner, it puts me off a little. AAAHHH HIS JAWLINE. I’m such a sucker for certain jawlines. His voice is a little strange but I can’t see any hint of his English accent so that was really good :D

LOOK AT THAT JAWLINE. (L)

LOOK AT THAT JAWLINE. (L)

Bella (Kristen Stewart) is just not Bella but oh well. The plot didn’t really follow the book exactly but if you could just forget the book whilst the movie was rolling then it all goes well. The baseball scene was great! Ahh Jasper looked reallly really good when he was batting. So does Emmett. Hahaha and there were all these things that the characters said that just made us crack up.

Rosalie – ‘…my monkeyman’. HAHAHA

Charlie – ‘….You’re beautiful’.

And Mike was actually really cute! In a boyish sort of way. Eric and Angela were asians and Tyler was black and it was just really funny, in a good way. They were hilarious! Especially Eric. ‘LA PUSH BABEHHH’. HAHA but by far my favourite scene was the prom. The dance, the song, the lighting. Everything. It was just soo amazingly heart-wrenching-ly romantic. And sweeet. I could watch that scene over and over again.

this picture is soo cute.

this picture is really really cute.

I loveloveloveeeeeeeee this scene. the scenery, edward and bella. its soSOsoso sweet. and again, edward's jawline!

PROM!

Sorry, all these pictures are only Edward and Bella. I want to find one of the high school people! I cant find any though :( And why isn’t Robert Pattinson gorgeous in real life compared to the movie?! It’s so mind-boggling how he’s incredibly goodlooking in the movie and in real life he looks so.. scruffy and not at all attractive.

Both of us bought Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants 2. I’m going to distract myself completely today by watching it and attempting to bake bookies and banana muffins. No irrelevant thoughts of other things. Some of you know what I mean. :( Wish me luck! :D

sinking in, making its mark.

December 15, 2008

Bored to deaath so Min came over today and we decided to watch A Walk To Remember after the Notebook refused to work. Initially it was a choice between House Bunny, Sisterhood of Travelling Pants 2 or Madagascar 2 but I have no idea what happened. We were munching on chocolate cheesecake and biscuits. Hahaha and ended up crying. As usual. The movie’s so sad! It’s insane. I personally think it’s better than the Notebook. I mean, yeah sure the Notebook has a beautiful story and everything but its just not as sad as A Walk To Remember.

Later on, we went over to Haz’s house. Johnny and Ab were there too! was nice to see them. Shame they’re not staying longer thoughh. Johnny’s bald! okay not completely but his hair is super super super short. Hazim, Nazim, Arif, Adi, Michael, Azim and Hui Min came as well.

army boy haha

We were just sort of chilling around. Haz had liquorice there :D gosh love liquorice. okay only the raspberry one. well the rest are alright actually, except for the black one. That is, revolting. went out for a short drive in Michael’s car until he had to go home early. then we started watching February 29 and I had to go home. Hahahah

ab and his mini mohawk.

dsc08581End of my saaad day. Though it was better towards the end :) okay, a more interesting post later. This one is so pointless. Hongkong in 5 days! Twilight tomorrow :D

keep me close

December 14, 2008

Okay, if you’re a Twilight reader+fan and you’re reading this, have you seen the article about Twilight today on page 21 of the Bulletin? I’ll put it here.

IT’S love at first look instead of first bite in Twilight, a deeply sincere, outright goofy vampire romance for the hot-not-to-trot abstinence set.

Based on the foundational book in Stephanie Meyer’s best-selling multi-volume series, The Twilight Saga (four doorstops and counting_, this carefully-faithful adaptation traces the sighs and whispers, the shy glances and furious glares of two unlikely teenage lovers who fall into each otehr’s instincts, high school dramas and oh-so-confusing feelings (like, OMG he’s so hot! Does he like ME? Will he KILL me?? I don’t CARE!!).

And, reader, she doesn’t, the ’she’ being Bella (for Isabella) Swan, played with tremulous intensity and a slight snarl by Kristen Steward.

A sylph with a watchful, sometimes wary gaze who’s often cast in daughter roles, Stewart transformed from an appealing actress into something more complex with her brief, memorable turn in the 2007 movie of Jon Krakauer’s book Into the Wild.

As the child-woman whose longing for the ill-fated wanderer Christopher McCandless is largely expressed through piercing looks and sensitive strumming, Stewart gave form and feeling to the possibility that the search for freedom and authentic experiences can be found in the embrace of another human being. This was a girl worth living for, if not for that film’s lost soul.

Since living really isn’t an option for Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), the moody, darkly brooding vampire who catches Bella’s eye and then her heart, she becomes the girl worth fighting for, a bettle that, as in the book, involves not just malignant forces, but also ravenous appetite.

Like all vampire stories, Twilight is about repressed desire and untamed hunger and the possibility of blood, the blood that flows from violently pierced necks and that, from John Polidori’s 1819 short novel.

Sorry but nrrgghhh its a little irritating. :( First, that part – ‘like, OMG he’s so hot! Does he like ME? Will he KILL me?? I don’t CARE!!’ – sounds so ditzy! And it says that its ‘goofy’. In the book, yeah sometimes in a refreshing way but the movie doesn’t seem goofy at all! It’s so serious! Have you seen all the trailers and clips they’ve released? Bella’s meant to be almost bratty and not all monotonous and super serious like Kristen Stewart plays her as.

And Edward = Moody, Darkly Brooding Vampire? That makes him sound so unappealing. Which is the opposite of what he is. Super excrutiatingly, heartbreakingly appealing. :) Hahaha and he’s really charming in the book, you can’t help but fall in love with him too. Sure he’s got his unpredictable mood swings. I say Gaspard (hehehe looovee) is a better candidate for Edward. Aww too late :( Gaspard isnt exactly EDWARD but he’s miles ahead of Robert Pattie Fattie.

Finee hahaha I’ll stop being so judgemental and making all these assumptions. :) Lets see how the movie turns out. I’m waiting for Tuesday to watch it.

Anyway, moving on. It’s only about 10 days til Christmas! :D I wish we had snow, I’d love to have a snowy xmas. I’m so jealous of people in Canada. Have you guys heard of Boxing Day? It’s when everything, and they mean EVERYTHING, is on sale. Like 50% and over and things like that. It’s insanity, it’s my (and other shopaholics) dream come true! If only I lived there. I could go to Metrotown in Burnaby and shop at the Zara and AE there.. I miss that place! Eating at Nando’s and New York Fries, drinking Ice Caps from Tim Hortons, dropping by Claire’s and Icing by Claire’s etc. Bubble milk tea in Richmond :(

Ice caps would be a hit in Brunei!

Ice caps would be a hit in Brunei!

Enough of this, I’m going to go watch 007 later. :) I’m SO behind with the whole movie biz, hahaha so I decided to watch it today with people. I’ll see you all later. Mom made cheesecake. Time to DIG IN :D

through the camera lens

December 13, 2008

OOH HONGKONG IN A WEEK.

I’m itchin’ to get some coats and boots to wear. :( Now I’ve got an excuse to buy them coz I can save them up for when I’m in uni overseas and I can wear them in Qatar too. Plus trench coats are practically an essential right? I wish we could wear maxi-dresses and look casual without having people stare at you in Brunei. It’s nice to be able to wear just a long flowy dress out to some get-together or the beach. It’d be so lovely. Since I’m going for more than a week this time, perhaps I’ll finally go to Ocean Park. I have another sudden urge to go on a rollercoaster :D

I’m aiming for:

1. Trench Coat. Double Breasted? :)
2. Boots. Maybe a light colour.
3. Bags (I’m using my red patent tote way too often)
4. Dresses for parties
5. Bold-coloured blazer (so I can wear tees inside for school)
6. A new phone to replace this silly fake China one. I miss my chocolate :(
7. Knitwear. E.g. sweaters

Like these Gucci pieces: I’ve posted pictures of the model with the garment/bag because some pieces sort of look different compared to when its not being worn/carried.

Gucci python tote. Just posted other pictures with it to see how it looks.

A Gucci python tote.

Python Messenger bag and a Black Suede Tote.

L-R: Python Messenger bag (not sure about the tassle though) and a Black Suede Tote.

i like these boho dresses but they'd probably look yucky on me.

i like these boho dresses but they'd probably look really yucky on me. :(

Double-breasted Cashmere coat and a Striped Cashmere tank top.

Double-breasted Cashmere coat and a Striped Cashmere tank top. More of an everyday ensemble.

I love this jacket with the buckle closure.

I love this jacket with the buckle closure.

And that Chloe python bag. :D I love this one.

but perhaps in another colour. too much black in my wardrobe.

but perhaps in another colour. too much black in my wardrobe.

Oh and I just had something really strange for dinner. I mean, it’s not strange because loads of people in Taiwan eat it,  but its strange in terms of appearance. Mmkay, I’ll tell you what it is. It’s sweet potato porridge.

but its purple.

but its PURPLE!

I tried one spoonful, and it tastes REALLY strange. I mean it’s probably going to taste nearly the same with any sweet potato (there’s red, yellow, purple etc). Its some japanese sweet potato. So I didn’t eat it and ate some fried mee with roasted pork instead. :) Yumm.
